About This Journal
The Journal of Engineering Research (TJER) is an international, peer-reviewed journal focusing on providing a medium for engineering researchers and scholars worldwide to publish their applied and fundamental research findings. The aim of this journal is to highlight research and development leading to innovative solutions in various engineering disciplines. TJER adheres to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and follows its Code of Conduct.
Journal History
The Journal of Engineering Research (TJER) was established in 2004 by Sultan Qaboos University as an open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research across various engineering disciplines. From its inception, TJER has maintained a broad scope, encompassing multiple fields of engineering. Initially hosted on the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, the journal achieved a significant milestone in 2009 when it was indexed in Scopus, enhancing its visibility in the global research community. Over the years, TJER has expanded its international reach, collaborating with numerous engineering conferences worldwide and attracting submissions from authors across different countries. Committed to academic integrity and accessibility, the journal has never charged publication fees to authors, ensuring a fair and inclusive platform for scientific dissemination. In 2025, TJER hosted in Digital Commons Elsevier platform, further strengthening its infrastructure and editorial capabilities. Throughout its journey, the journal has been solely funded and supported by Sultan Qaboos University, reflecting its dedication to advancing engineering research without commercial influence.
Publishing Schedule
The Journal of Engineering Research (TJER) publishes two issues annually—one in mid-year and the other at the end of the year.
